Honey Bee Educational Experiences and Consultancy
We are a small group of low-intervention, natural beekeepers who feel incredibly fortunate to spend time with honeybees in their natural rhythm. Our passion is sharing this experience with others, offering people of all ages the chance to slow down, connect with nature, and discover the quiet magic of the hive. Honeybees aren’t just calming to be around; they’re vital pollinators and essential to healthy ecosystems.

ABOUT US

The Dorset Bee is led by natural beekeepers Helen and Gareth.
Our work brings together a love of the outdoors, years of teaching experience, and a strong commitment to community. We are licensed by the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award organisation and regularly support DofE participants. We also work closely with primary schools, young people, and community groups, and offer relaxed, hands-on beekeeping short courses for adults.
At the heart of everything we do is a holistic philosophy: a bee cannot be understood in isolation from its colony, nor the colony from the habitat it depends on. We believe that healthy bees come from healthy environments—and we strive to provide safe, varied forage for all bees and insects, while actively restoring and protecting lost or damaged habitats.
We also consult with landowners, schools, and members of the public to help create pollinator-friendly spaces and support wider habitat restoration efforts across our local landscape. Whether it’s a wildflower verge, a school garden, or a larger piece of land, we love helping people make space for bees.
We’d love to welcome you in 2025, and help you explore the peaceful, powerful world of the honeybee.
